The Prince by swallowingsmiles The Prince by swallowingsmiles
There was a light on the water, a stranger's hand cold and wet in its place above your heart.
"the moon is floating away."
He breathed loud and soft, his eyelashes touching your mouth, and the ghosts guttered in their place on the river bank.

I can't get over the fact that you can write these lovely notes to go with your lovely art, and I don't know which one I like better. I can't sop looking at his eyes, somehow. Aside from the fact that the darkness of his eyes are emphasised against the pale pink of his face, there's that his eyelashes touching your mouth so you not only see them, but you fell them too, and now I'm rambling.

It was interesting seeing how you work with watercolours in the progress pictures. (Somehow it looks deceptively easy.)

Man I love your rambling

I feel like sometimes the picture woud be so empty and shallow without words to go along with it, so I'm really glad to know that they didn't clash but helped each other.

And my progress pictures are so BLEH! for this one!
The colours are so gross and horrid. I love that moment where i get to bring in the dark black and the ink though. I think it's funny how much the picture improves thanks to it.

I seriously love the use of color around the nose eyes and ears and the way it contrasts with the cold blue.

The way his eyes are so dark--as dark as the water--and draw the viewer in, as well as the circular design, are really complementary and a great choice, I think! Bravo, as always!

And I'll really be quiet now.
(I swear.)

You are always SO nice to me :cries:
It really means a lot to me that you like my work so much <3

And no, I meant guttered. I have a peculiar kind of attatchment to the word. It's lovely to me somehow- perhaps because it is so unused?

I squinted really hard to see that face, then stopped concentrating and found it haha.
I love how you see things that i don't even notice

where are you heading?
(p.s. I REALLY promise to get that art trade done soon)

And it means a lot to me that you're so kind and create such fabulous works of art!! This one really stuck in my head--maybe particularly because I saw it right before bed--it would float in and out the whole time I was travelling. :D (I travelled around the US a bit, which was nice.)

It's really indicative of your work. Unique, memorable, subtle! You do fine work, and you've got such a... not "demeaning"... er, I can't think of the word at the moment (on the tip of my tongue!) but it all works out to be quite charming, haha.

Ah! "Humble"! "Modest"! Those are the words I was looking for. :D

And speaking of words--so it was "guttered"! That's sweet. I like it, too!

Oh!! Hey! I've been wanting to talk to you about our proposed FF3 art trade--I keep forgetting about it too, in the rush of everything. Do you still want to go ahead with it, or just call it off? We can always go with a different series or prompt or something, if neither of us are really feeling the right vibe to do this piece.

I'd hate to have us both feel guilty about this trade and then never do another one because of it! haha (That happened to me and a friend once, and we haven't done one since... ;w; )

you always make me wibble like nobodies business
bloody flatterer~

Haha I don't know about the trade... I keep doing all these sketches of them and being really plased with them, but everytimes i go to make them something more finished they just get all messed up.
I'm totally open about it, I mean, if you're cool and unrushed about it then I'm more than happy to just keep trying with this one.
But you know, if you're completely stuck with it then I'm happy to change too :D
I don't play many games though so be gentle with me haha

BWAAAH
I BLEEDIN' LOVE THE WAY YOU RIGHT
(oh man but I can't... "write"!!)
THIS TOTALLY MADE MY NIGHT, MILES!
What a lovely last thing to see before I go off on my trip. Thank you!!!

Heheh, the paint is beautiful, especially the people, the crown and the water...

Oh, got a question for ya, though! "Guttered", or "fluttered"...? If it's the former, that's pretty sweet... like a candle, huh? It's been awhile since I've really heard that word!

Also, I dunno if it was intentional at all, but it looks like there's a really cute face right beneath the boy's, in the water... heh.

Okay! Enough gushing!
But I LOVE YOUR STUFF MANNNN
<3 <3 <3
(oh no, I'm one of those crazy fans...!) "orz Sorry!!

umm watercolour mostly, a couple of things in my gallery are acrylic... maybe two of them? But yeah, i find watercolour is the way to go for me. I like the control you get with it as opposed to working only with brushes.
